COAST Laboratory Full Mass Properties Measurement System

The COAST Laboratory (www.plymouth.ac.uk/coast-laboratory) is a state of the art research facility for the study of wave and current interaction with offshore and coastal structures using scaled physical modelling. It consists of the 35 m x 15.5 m x 3 m Ocean Basin, a 15 m x 10 m x 0.5 m Coastal Basin, two 0.6 m wide wave flumes and various smaller teaching facilities. Since opening in 2012, it has been instrumental in the UK maintaining its world leading position in the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) sector, playing a key role in testing novel ORE devices and platforms through UK and international collaborations.
