Description
This is a partnership project between Natural England and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust the purpose of which is to: 1 To facilitate works - Yorkshire Peat Partnership* has one contracts in place for continuation of works as part of contracts started in 15/16 and commence peatland restoration works on 2 new sites. YWT will oversee the completion of works on these sites during autumn/winter 2016/17. 2 Completion of draft restoration plans for sites surveyed in 2015/16 and second phase restoration plans. YPP completed new surveys of the following sites in 2015/16 and will complete draft restoration sites for each of these by September 2016. 3 Completion of new surveys and restoration plans and partially surveyed sites. 4 Advocacy with landowners to secure agreement for restoration plans. 5 High resolution topographic surveys for developing accurate restoration works. 6 Monitoring of peatland restoration works to assess quality and establishment of works plus long term monitoring to assess restoration of the hydrology and biotic integrity of the peatland.
