Description
In order to tackle the borough's high and rising infection rates and increased demand for testing and treatment,The Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) has decided to reorganise sexual health services in the boroughand as part of this programme of work are tendering its Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) service. Theoverarching aim will still be to provide an integrated model of service delivery with easy access to confidential,non-judgemental sexual health services (including for STIs , contraception, abortion, health promotionand prevention). However, the restructuring of sexual health services will move testing and treatment ofuncomplicated STIs (Level 1 and 2 services) from GUM services in a single hospital site to a mixture of patientself-managed testing and multiple sexual health clinics with extended opening hours and convenient transportlinks located across the borough. The GUM will be a Level 3 service available by referral only from General Practice, CASH and GSH clinicsin Greenwich (which offer level 1 and level 2 GUM services as well as contraceptive services), or from theGreenwich Sexual Health Office following home testing. The service will support patients with STIs and otherconditions requiring more complicated testing, diagnosis and treatment provided in a GUM setting. The provider will need to work closely with the CASH (Contraceptive and Sexual Health Clinic) and GSH services (Greenwich Sexual Health) in the borough to ensure that from patients' perspective there is a seamlessly integrated sexual health pathway. The period of contract will be 3 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years. The maximum period ofcontract will not exceed 5 years. The Annual Value is no more than £695,828 The 3 yr value is approx. £2,087,484
