Description

The Service Provider shall deliver a programme of predominantly electrical and instrumentation services to support the design, supply, installation, modification, operation, and maintenance of low voltage power monitoring solutions across United Utilities powered assets. This includes the bespoke design and deployment of monitoring hardware utilising GSM modem communications to transmit site data to the AquaDNA platform. The scope supports AMP delivery outcomes and PR24 investment objectives through improved asset visibility, resilience, and performance monitoring. Scope of Works The Services shall include, but not be limited to, the following activities: Design and Engineering • Provision of bespoke monitoring solutions, including system architecture and site specific designs. • Engineering design to integrate low voltage monitoring hardware with existing electrical assets. • Provision of SME technical advice to inform future solution development, asset interventions, and investment planning. Supply and Installation • Supply of all monitoring hardware required for the solution, including GSM enabled communications equipment. • Installation and modification of low voltage monitoring equipment at United Utilities powered assets. • Delivery of new installations across approximately 430 inlet works and 245 last in line pumping stations. • Installation activities ranging in scale from minor works (~4 man hours) to complex installations (up to ~100 man hours per site). Communications and Data Integration • Configuration of GSM modem communications to enable secure transmission of site data to the AquaDNA platform via cloud services. • Verification of end to end data flow from site hardware through the communications network and data pipeline to the cloud environment. Asset Support and Maintenance • Fault diagnosis and rectification of existing low voltage monitoring equipment. • Ongoing support for improvement and maintenance activities across the existing power monitoring asset base (circa 1,700 assets). • Reactive and proactive fault finding across the entire monitoring solution, including on site equipment, communications infrastructure, data pipeline, and cloud systems. Surveys and Enabling Works • Completion of site surveys to confirm installation requirements, constraints, and access conditions. • Identification of risks, dependencies, and constructability considerations to inform safe and efficient delivery.
