Description
The successful Supplier will be required to provide catering and hospitality services for Brockenhurst College. The site listed below is included in the tender, and we are seeking tender submissions for the whole contract. Brockenhurst College has an excellent reputation built upon its results and student performance ranked one of the best. The successful contractor will be required to deliver a service and meet the requirements of the specification at site from the contract commencement. 1 – Brockenhurst College is a large Tertiary College ranked 8th nationally and 1st locally. The process is to be inclusive of the requirements for the following location: •The Hard Brock Restaurant & The Hard Brock Coffee are both based at the College, Brockenhurst College, Lyndhurst Road, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, SO42 7ZE The contract being tendered is for 3 years in duration from 1st August 2026 until 31st August 2029, with the option to extend for further terms of 3 years on the same terms and conditions excluding the right to further extend. The contract will be guaranteed performance in nature. The tender project is seeking to appoint a Contractor whose Initiatives and innovations will be welcomed for the provision of all catering services across the two locations within the College. The high-quality service levels proposed, should significantly improve the current standards throughout, resulting in a new food service and coffee offer with consistent high standards of food operations across the locations. Regular customer engagement (using digital platforms and social media) will be required to ensure the service sees significant improvement through marketing, offer alignment against customer profiling and a full understanding of the demographics. The college has been operating its own catering and now recognise that to keep up with the growing student numbers and excellent college reputation the food and beverage service alongside a hospitality requirement now needs to match the new expectations locally. The college is seeing an average of 2,700 students on site each day with very minimal competition locally. It is anticipated that this will increase by an additional 200 students in 2026/27 increasing year on year. These new standards of operation should meet the needs of students, staff, visitors and the new senior team moving forward into this contract term. The contract will operate on a guaranteed basis (return or subsidy) The approximate current revenue (sales) within the contract annually is in the region of £380,000 across both locations with major opportunities to significantly increase sales with future investment provided by either the successful bidder or client. The successful contractor will be expected to put forward both innovation and their proposals for making this contract more environmentally sensitive and carbon neutral moving into this contract term both by way of contract delivery and within the successful contractor’s organisation, while working to deliver best environmental practices for Brockenhurst College. Your approach to sustainability should mirror that of the college’s. The successful contractor should be able to evidence significant steps towards carbon neutrality as well as demonstrable plans to achieve their targets throughout the contractual term. It will be expected that sustainability as well as social value be reported through the management review meetings. The terms and conditions of employment and recognition offered to the catering operatives should be both progressive and forward thinking ensuring that the staffing establishment is always complete, and staff turnover is kept to a minimum.
