Description
This contract is part of our ERDF Wild Towns Project (part funded through the European Regional development Fund), improving wildlife habitats and connectivity within 7 Gloucestershire towns. The multi-use path represented in this contract will play a crucial role in helping people to access these improved habitats. The chosen contractor would work closely with Gloucestershire County Council (landowners), Stroud District Council and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust during the construction. The successful applicant will meet the following objectives: • Resurface 3 areas of the existing route (currently compacted hard-core/aggregate) between Nailsworth and Stroud to the combined length of 1266m, at an average width of 3m. • Surface to be durable and 'flexible' - suitable for all potential users: walkers, cyclists and horse riders. An ideal surface would use recycled tyres (alternatives are equally valid), although we would need demonstrable evidence that such a surface would not leach pollutants into the adjacent stream. The surface should also be permeable, allowing use at all times of the year. • A 5-10 year guarantee would provide reassurance and be an advantage to potential bidders in the scoring process, as will environmental credentials. • Temporary signage will need to meet ERDF branding guidelines. • Quote should include all support costs separately. The full ITT document can be found on our website: and also attached to this notice. Please apply by sending the completed ITT document to the address above, or contact the Project Manager if you have any problems accessing the files.
