Description

The Care Leavers app is a mature, sector leading digital tool already adopted by over 40 local authorities across the UK to improve communication, access to entitlements and support for care experienced young people. This level of sector penetration demonstrates a strong proven track record, reducing risk to the Council and ensuring a high level of interoperability with established practice elsewhere. There is a strong focus on co-design and providing access in over 100 different languages to ensure that the app meets our needs locally. A co-production workshop will be held with local care leavers to develop an app that meets our needs locally. The offer aligns closely with national government priorities around digital transformation and inclusion and integrated real time apprenticeship feeds from Gov.uk, supporting wider government commitment to improve outcomes for care leavers in education, training and employment. It also includes wellbeing support developed in partnership with organisations such as The Mix, reinforcing its alignment with nation policy direction on young people's mental health. The Care Leavers app is supported through the Government Commercial Agency (previously Crown Commercial Services) G-Cloud 14 framework which provides a fully compliant, pre-procured route for buying cloud-based software and digital services. The product is already listed on G-Cloud as a cloud software solution specifically designed for local authorities supporting care leaver, with published pricing, service documentation and terms through the digital marketplace.
