Description
The Army Generalship Programme is run once a year for three weeks in January to prepare newly promoted 2* Army officers for their new roles in senior management posts. The course is a personal development programme designed to promote Generalship, a wider understanding of the context within which the Army operates in the UK, a business perspective on senior management and the society within which it exists. Op MOBILISE has focussed the minds of the Army on Eastern Europe in recent months and Director Leadership has directed, in agreement with the Chief of the General Staff, that the programme should include a real-life scenario-based wargame. This should be developed in conjunction with the wargame delivered by the Higher Command and Staff Course in Apr this year. The Wargame requires the development of a realistic scenario and professional support during the execution phase. This capability does not exist in the Army and HCSC used a civilian firm to deliver both elements.
