Description
Dstl (the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory) is an Executive Agency of the UK Ministry of Defence. We provide sensitive and specialist science and technology (S&T) research, advice and analysis for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and wider Government. The New Information Systems (IS) Service Solution (NISSS) Programme will deliver a holistic and future focused IS service capability that underpins the realisation of Dstl Strategic Objectives. Dstl requires a modern, agile, scalable, secure and customer focused IS Service that can respond to an increasing and evolving demand driven by the S&T strategy and associated capability areas of which IT is the critical enabling capability. The increased focus across Defence and Security on areas such as Cyber, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and CBR, combined with the need to support Defence and Security capabilities that have an increasing dependence on complex on-board and supporting systems for data collection and processing, means that increased investment and alignment to industry best practice is required by Dstl. The future service will be disaggregated, delivered through a number of contracts. The existing contract with the incumbent Supplier, Sopra Steria Ltd (SSL), is being extended by 44 months to support the disaggregation and transition of the IS Service to any replacement economic operator(s) and to meet the disaggregated service requirements
