Description

To support the management and delivery of Bikeability within Liverpool City Region increasing child safety and increase cycling trips whereby more children cycle to school. This includes: • Administration and management of the booking of training with schools and other appropriate stakeholder organisations to required targets as set by the contracting authority, • Dealing with delivery queries and complaints from stakeholders, • Improve cycle skills and road sense, • Increase confidence to cycle, • Create a positive perception of cycling, • Encourage, enable and facilitate more people to cycle more often, more safely, • To support the Liverpool City Region Transport Plan for growth strategy and engender a cycling culture and cycling as a preferred travel option. Bikeability is national standard cycling training to young people and may also include a range of cycling interventions, dependant on funding available. Examples of previous interventions include: • Provision of adapted equipment and bikes to help facilitate activities for all • Additional level 1 and 2 combined and additional level 3 cycle training • Bikeability for SEN children with equipment • Additional bikeability plus modules such as learn to ride and transition modules The Contracting Authority, provide the services through Department of Transport funding which is set for 2 years but can include an increase from underspend nationally. The Contracting Authority applies for extra funding via underspend each financial year and whether this funding is approved will affect the contract value and services provided. Please note the amounts available under funding are subject to review. This is a 22 month contract with option to extend by up to 28 months. We have secured DfT funding for the initial period of 22 months. An extension to the contract will be subject to additional funding being available. Due to uncertainty, it is unclear as to the amount of funding available following the initial 22 month period, it may fluctuate depending on funding available.
