Description
The Occupational Health Unit is based in Stafford and primarily serves the needs of Staffordshire County Council employees and also a small number of local district councils and colleges. The appointed provider must provide an Occupational Health Physician who is a member or fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom or equivalent. The role will include the need to undertake clinical sessions to assist with the clinical workload in relation to management referral cases and pre-employment assessments. There will be a small number of health surveillance cases and it will also involve offering professional medical support/advice to the occupational health nurses on more complex clinical case and acting as the independent doctor for ill-health retirement cases for which administrative support will be provided by the County Council for report writing. The role may also include the requirement to carry out occasional workplace assessments and occasional home visits.
