Description
The contract has been awarded for the creation of maps that would display the spatial value of shipping to the English economy, through a combination of data sets and using a methodology that is repeatable. The project objectives are to: - compile a temporally referenced spatial dataset of shipping activity covering 1 year of data across 1 marine plan area at a spatial and temporal resolution at least that of MMO1066. - identify, evaluate and source relevant data to determine shipping trade value - combine the spatial data layer with the results of the value exercise to produce maps showing the value of shipping to specific geographical areas with as great a resolution as possible to enable plan policy decision making - use stakeholder engagement to validate the approach to ensure that it is robust The project will start in December 2018 and run for 6 months.
