Description
National Highways (NH) is to continue with the provision of technical support on structures with safety critical, substandard components as identified by NH, Safety Engineering and Standards (SES policy CS470, Management of Substandard Structures. The task is to continue with the management of this risk commissioned under SPATs2 task, TO304. This task will look to take invested knowledge, any new knowledge acquired during task 304 to seamlessly manage these safety critical structures with recognised hidden critical defects. The successful contractor will also be required to work with AD10 staff, Design Services Contractor (DSC) as required, SES and 3rd part data providers who supply monitoring information for contractor analysis. This role will include 3rd party data interpretation with recommendations drawn for NH to act upon, including informing future strengthening works, in maintaining the safe and full operational use of these structures and the Strategic Road Network they carry. The task is to run throughout financial year 2022/23, reporting monthly on progress on finance, project and technical matters, liaising with monitoring data providers and adhoc queries as the need arises or increased risks dictate. The asset knowledge, skills and expertise required for this task are discussed later in this work scope package.
