Description
UK Biobank is looking for suppliers with the necessary capacity and capability to supply Tap Polar System support, for an expected period of up to five years. The first 'year' will be a series of training / handover sessions during the period between award of contract to June 2018, at which point the successful bidder will take over full responsibility for the system support for the remaining 4 years that the contract is anticipated to last for. UK Biobank uses a "Polar" Automated -80°C freezer system supplied by The Automation Partnership ("TAP") for the storage of a variety of biological samples.The storage system comprises:-- an antechamber, held at +4°C, which is the main point of access for operators wishing to enter samples into the store or remove samples from storage- a main chamber, held at -20°C, which itself houses a series of "ultra-low temperature compartments" (ULTCs) held at -80°C
