Description

The successful supplier will be required to provide catering services for Portico Academy Trust at the following schools: - Porters Grange Primary School, - Hamstel Infant School, - Hamstel Junior School. Portico Academy Trust: The Portico Academy Trust was established in April 2016 and presently consists of West Leigh Junior School, Porters Grange Primary School and Nursery, Friars Primary School and Nursery, Hamstel Junior School and Hamstel Infant School and Nursery. This opportunity extends to 3 of the 5 schools within the Trust. The tender project is seeking to appoint a supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of services within the existing facilities for the students and teaching/support staff at each school in the Trust. The client requires a focus on exciting new food concepts to satisfy a wide range of pupil tastes and dietary requirements. The Trust would wish the successful supplier to review the current range of services offered and make recommendations accordingly. The contract being tendered is for three years in duration from 1.9.2019 until 31.8.2022 with the option to extend this contract by a further 2 years in agreement with the Trust. The contract will operate as a guaranteed performance contract, with the successful supplier offering the client a guaranteed return/cost per annum for the provision of catering services. Sovereignty of the cash tariff/price per meal is to remain with the Trust for the duration of this contract. The academic year is based on a calendar of 195 days. 5 days are to be used for staff professional development which means that school will be open to receive students for the legal minimum of 190 days. The contract offered covers the scope for the provision of all catering services at the schools, which currently includes nursery provisions, lunch, all hospitality and free issue requirements. Free School Meals will be charged based on uptake and at a margin, where hospitality will be provided at net food cost. Whilst the Trust prioritises value for money as a key objective of the competitive tender process, the Trust is not obliged to accept the lowest price. Please be advised that: - this contract will be let on a 3 + 2 years basis, - the catering services are currently provided by Pabulum at Hamstel Infants and Junior School and an in-house provision at Porters Grange School, - there are current catering staff in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). Please note that this is a growing Trust. Should any further schools join this Trust over the course of the term of this contract these additional schools - plus any existing schools within the Trust - may, at the decision of the Trust, be added to this catering contract.
