Ashford Borough Council is seeking a high quality contractor to carry out a window, door and cladding replacement scheme at 3 sites within the borough - as follows: • Godfrey Walk, Ashford - 4 blocks of flats (Bears End House, Pound House, Trumpet House and Waterman House. These blocks are a mix of two and three story buildings totalling 64 flats in all. Windows have been replaced before at these blocks and the existing are UPVC double glazed units. Windows and cladding only are to be replaced - cladding is minimal. • Priory Way, Tenterden - 2 blocks of flats, two storeys high totalling 16 flats in all. Windows have been replaced before at these blocks and the existing are UPVC double glazed units. Most windows are to be replaced. • Nine Acres, Kennington - 2 flats per property totalling 4 flats in all. The blocks comprise of two houses split horizontally into 2 flats joined by a communal access staircase. Windows have been replaced before at these blocks and the existing are UPVC double glazed units. Windows and doors are to be replaced. The works are programmed to be undertaken between May 2019 and August 2019, however, the start and end dates stated in this notice are provisional and maybe subject to review. The successful Contractor must be FENSA or CERTASS registered and tenders from those that are not will be rejected without further consideration. The fabricator/installer must be a licensed Kite marked manufacturer to BS7412 and BSENISO.9002:1987/BS5750:Part 2; 1987 and a full copy of this license must accompany the tender. Tenders not containing a copy of the license will be rejected without further consideration. Statutory leasehold consultation will be undertaken and tender prices will be notified to leaseholders. Planning permission is required for this work and an application for these works has been submitted to the relevant planning authority.
