The Summit Centre Tender Opportunity

We are looking for contractors who wish to express an interest in tendering for works at the Rock UK Summit Centre. This will be procured as a single stage design and build contract under JCT. Rock UK Summit Centre, Wales is situated in Treharris, south of Merthyr Tydfil. The accommodation is generally dated and of poor condition. It is therefore considered necessary to refurbish certain parts of the accommodation and to extend the facility to offer residential accommodation to meet the Rock UK Business Model. The proposal is to refurbish the existing facility (2,000m²) and replace existing flat roof with pitched roofs. The scope also includes a new first floor extension for overnight accommodation, a new reception/concourse, new kitchen yard, workshop and stores (approximately 600m²) at ground level, together with associated external works and drainage. The existing scheme has been granted Planning Permission however the design changes that are envisaged is likely to result in a new planning application being prepared and submitted to the local authority. Please note, the spend profile will be determined by the construction programme and tender.
