Description
Due to requirements laid down by DEFRA as a result of health concerns from mercury emissions. An environmental charge was introduced in January 2006 to either fund mercury abatement equipment or to burden share towards other LA's who have invested in the equipment via the DEFRA approved CAMEO scheme. Oldham Council have not yet invested in the mercury abatement equipment.
