Description

This ITQ are seeking bids from organisations who are licensed to collect and purchase mixed scrap ferrous metal (Goods) from our Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) and Waste Transfer Stations (WTS) located in Leicestershire. These organisations should be capable of providing ro-ro type containers at each Collection Point and provide an on request reliable collection of scrap and return of container service. The awarded Buyer will pay for the Goods monthly based on the value and weight of the goods collected during that month both of which will vary month by month. As a result, this agreement constitutes an income generating contract for the Council. This quotation process is not a procurement exercise, and therefore the Procurement Act 2023 does not apply to this competition. It is being published solely for transparency. Please note that this is a Sales Contract, and the values provided are estimated figures only. The actual income the Council receives will depend on future market prices for light iron which are currently declining, as well as the actual tonnages collected over the duration of the contract. As this is a Sales Contract, the appointed suppliers are required to pay the Council for the income generated from the materials collected.
