Description
The Department of Health and Social Care has contracted with Oxford University to undertake a 'Research' to monitor trend in Self-harm (SH; non-fatal intentional self-poisoning or self-injury). SH is responsible for more than 200,000 general hospital presentations every year and is strongly linked to suicide. It is therefore a priority topic in the National Suicide Prevention Strategy for England and the subject of recent NICE guideline. Monitoring trends in SH, improving clinical management of SH patients and reducing risk factors for SH are central components of prevention and improvement of patient outcomes. Contract term: 12 months with the option to extend for up to further 12 months Estimated contract value (excluding extensions): £400,000
