Description

Pre market engagement was conducted with 4 separate company's Company 1 Concerns raised about the insurance on other disciplines work if they sub contracted to the lead consultant. They would prefer that each discipline was appointed directly to avoid this Company 2 No concerns and agreed with our approach to have a lead consultant responsible for the other disciplines within the project. They had insurance to cover the other disciplines in house. Company 3 No concerns and agreed with our approach. Regularly worked as a lead consultant with multi disciplinary teams and they navigated the insurance issue by having robust back to back sub contract agreements with sub consultants. They noted that they add on a small percentage for managing the sub consultants onto their fee. They also suggested we need to be clear what insurance levels need to be held by all disciplines in order to ensure that they bring forward as part of their group sub consultants who have those levels of insurance. I think we need to make it clear on our PSQ there is no flexibility in this insurance. Company 4 No concerns and agreed with our approach. Regularly worked as lead consultant in multi disciplinary teams and had the same back to back contracts with sub consultants. Said it was useful on the larger schemes to have the single point of contact.
