Description
The contract would consist of hardware provision of replacement core networking equipment to supersede the functionality of the existing CISCO Nexus 7010 switches at Stockton and Darlington datacentres. This functionality includes the support of 3 x virtual device contexts (Corporate, Public, Private), 'stretched' VLAN's using OTV, flexibility of interfaces to support copper, fibre on 1GBps and 10GBps SFP+. In order to minimise the impact on the existing network and reduce risk, we have designed a replacement system using Nexus 7004 switches and Nexus 2000 series fabric extenders. There is also a schedule of all current Cisco datacentre equipment to be covered under a maintenance contract for 5 years or until the end of any item's service life.
