Description

Park View School is a non-selective Tottenham secondary school maintained by the Local Authority (Haringey). It has roughly 1,040 pupils, with around 50% of pupils eligible to Free School Meals. In February 2023, the school was again rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The catchment area of Park View encompasses one of the most ethnically, culturally and socially diverse areas in the UK and over 74% of pupils at the school speak English as an additional language. Park View emphasises its "broad and balanced" curriculum, placing equal importance on the arts and sport alongside academic rigour, to support pupils' success. Park View School has a working partnership with the London Academy of Excellence (LAE), which is a large high-performing sixth-form college in Tottenham. As such, LAE will be supporting Park View school throughout the tender process and will play an active role in the evaluation and selection of the contractor. Basis of Contract The school wishes to appoint a supplier to deliver full catering services. The contract will commence from 1st September 2026 for an initial period of 3 years plus an option to extend for 2 periods of 1 year and operate under a ‘Cost-Plus’ basis with guarantees attached to labour and food cost. The catering service is currently contracted and based on existing trading performance the total sales turnover from cash and free school meals is estimated at £1 million (over initial 3-year period). However, it is highly anticipated that the contract has strong potential for significant growth. Objectives The appointed Supplier will have: •Significant experience of delivering quality catering services within secondary schools. •Familiarity with successfully managing high volume commercial budgets in secondary schools •Proven ability to grow sales and increasing pupil meal uptake •A compelling attitude towards making the lunchtime service appealing, healthy and educational for children •Sufficient local resources to ensure the required level of service is constantly maintained. Please see PSQ document for more information.
