Description
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the primary intervention offered through IAPT. IAPT is part of a 4 step model of psychological therapy with step 2 for people with sub-threshold, mild to moderate common mental health problems and step 3 for people with mild/moderate to severe common mental health disorders requiring a high intensity intervention. High Intensity (HI) Interventions are provided at step 3. (See Appendix 1). Low Intensity (LI) Interventions are provided at Step 2. A range of high intensity counselling is offered as a Step 3 intervention including Counselling for Depression, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy and Couples Therapy
