Description
Bureau Veritas UK Ltd has been appointed by the Environment Agency for the role of Central Management and Coordination Unit (CMCU) for the fine particulate (PM2.5) network in England. This network is an emerging network that aligns to the provisions of compliance measurements on concentrations of PM2.5 in ambient air as required under The Environmental Targets (Fine Particulate Matter (England) Regulations 2023 set through The Environment Act 2021. The Local Site Operator (LSO) function is a critical routine operational function that seeks to support CMCU in the achievement of data quality objectives for the data being collected. Organizations are invited to express an interest in participating in a forthcoming tender event being run by the CMCU. The duration of the contract is anticipated to be for up to an initial 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years. It is expected that multiple organizations will provide LSO functions across the network according to local geographic presence to the PM2.5 air quality station(s), this reducing the extent of impact on the environment through the generation of carbon emissions.
