Adaptations to Bathrooms for Disabled Persons

The Council is responsible for carrying out bathroom alterations and adaptations to council owned properties in line with recommendations from North Yorkshire County Council's Health and Adult Services. The work comprises replacing existing unsuitable bathing facilities with facilities recommended by Occupational Therapists. This usually consists of removing the existing Bathroom suite and forming a Wet Room. Occasionally it may be necessary to install shower cubicles, or even remove a shower and fit a bath. This includes pre-start surveys, associated trades works including, electrics, joinery, plumbing, plastering, tiling, flooring and decoration works.
