Description
People living with HIV, particularly newly diagnosed cases, should receive timely and tailored support which promotes their emotional, physical and social well-being. The purpose of this procurement is to; • Deliver a range of timely and easy to access support interventions for people newly diagnosed and/or living with HIV • Encourage a holistic approach which enables service users to manage their long term condition independently and effectively • Increase awareness and access to key local universal services (such as housing, employment, health, social care, faith groups, social, community, welfare and legal services) • Improve health and well being, develop personal resilience, social and community inclusion • Reduce the likelihood of onwards transmission by providing early and timely intervention and prevention support • Raise HIV awareness within universal service through workforce training, challenging stigmatisation and developing effective partnership working opportunities. • Ensure high prevalence groups most at risk of HIV have access to sex and relationship education, safe sex resources (such as condoms), information and advice and signposting to local sexual health services available within GPs, pharmacies, online self testing sites, contraception and sexual and contraception clinics (CaSH) and where appropriate specialist sexual health services (GUM).
