Description
There is a requirement to refurbish Torrington Market House, a Grade II* Listed building following the emergency works to remove the unsafe Bellcote structure in 2021. The front elevation of this prominent Market Hall Building at the entrance to the Pannier Market is also in a very poor state of repair and greatly diminishes the overall appearance of this side of the Square. In order to replace the refurbished Bellcote the façade of the building will require scaffolding to the full height of the building. It makes good economic sense to utilise this scaffold and to extend the scaffolding to fully access the front elevation and other parts of the building to undertake a more comprehensive schedule of repair works. The rear and side elevations of the building are also in a poor state of repair and have been included in the schedule of works.
