Description
The NCSP in General Practice ensures greater access to testing, Our Requirements for the Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Screening Laboratory Service (Primary Care) are detailed below: - Cambridgeshire County Council, Public Health would like to determine the options and potential cost of providing a Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Screening Laboratory Service for analysis of sceens undertaken in Primary Care in line with the National Chlamydia Screening Programme Standards ( 7th Edition). - This service is aimed at identifying/screening and treating young women aged 15 to 24 who have chlamydia. - This will contribute to a reduction in the prevalence of Chlamydia in young women aged 15 to 24. While increase patient choice by providing additional access to Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screening - The provider will be expected to demonstrate that they can meet Standard 3: Laboratory Testing Procedures and Standard 5: Data Collection and Submission to Public Health England set out in the National Chlamydia Screening Programme Standards ( 7th Edition). - The provider will provide screening kits to all GP practices that have signed up to deliver Chlamydia Screening and Treatment (currently 42 however this may increase). - The Provider will also provide a system for the direct collection of screening kits from contracted GP practices and transport to the laboratory. - The provider will analyse data and provide results to the local sexual health service for the treatment of positive Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea cases and partner notification. GP activity levels will be sent to to the commissioner to enable GP payments for undertaking the tests. Data including results and GP practices will also be sent to commissioners to pay GPs for their provision of offering the tests.
