Description
APHA conducts a large amount of publicly-funded applied research which generates valuable intellectual property (IP) that needs to be protected and exploited. In many cases the IP can be licensed to 3rd parties on a commercial basis to generate income. There are four strands to the work: a) Identification of 3rd parties to which we can licence the IP. b) Negotiation of licences and the drafting of licences. c) Assistance with the negotiation of inward licences when a Defra funded research project needs the use of IP owned by other organisations. d) Working with APHA scientists to identify suitable IP for protection and exploitation. The consultant will provide up to 52 days of IP consultancy during 2015/16.
