Description
Each year as part of the Heritage Counts publication, we publish key socio-economic indicators which demonstrate the scale, scope and value of heritage. The data are collected from numerous sources and presented in Excel spreadsheets on the Heritage Counts website. In addition to these collated indicators, in 2016 we commissioned research to produce our first Heritage Economic Impact Indicators Workbook. This workbook presented new data using standard statistical data sources to estimate the economic value of heritage including heritage employment, GVA and tourism and construction sector impacts. The information provided in the workbook is extremely useful in presenting the case for heritage and an updated version was produced for 2017. We are now looking to commission consultants to produce new estimates for 2018 using the latest statistical releases and estimates released in the last 12 months. In addition we would like to develop a historic time series looking at past trends of the key indicators at national level and where possible at regional level.
