Description
Noise and Vibration measuring equipment required for INM's Accoustic & Vibration Department. There is a need for a dedicated computer-based data acquisition measurement system for noise and vibration for use in the different military platforms. The general and detailed specifications for the system are as follows: It must be a Multi-channel data acquisition system. It must be able to stream data simultaneously for a minimum of 6 channels. It must have a sample and hold facility during data acquisition. It must be able to acquire data up to a frequency of 50,000 Hz. It must have flexibility on the type of input transducer that can be used. It must be able to accept a current microphones and accelerometers. The complete system must be portable. It should include self-powered ability for remote environments (battery powered). It should have wireless operation ability for use in harsh environments. It should be expandable to include more channels in the future. It should have a remote control unit for real-time checking of data. The software should be compatible with formats within the section (e.g. WAV files). It should have the ability to acquire large amounts of data (~60 Gb).
