Description
The London Borough of Newham is seeking quotes from experienced providers of Level 5 Certificate in Supervision Studies to support supervisors in Newham schools to deliver high quality supervision to Early Help practitioners in school settings who are working directly with vulnerable children and families. The training will be delivered to 45 practitioners. The aim of this training is to equip supervisors with the knowledge and skills to be effective, competent and confident in using a range of approaches to the supervision of early help practitioner to improve their work with vulnerable families. It is intended that supervisors will be able to use their learning within a supervision context to identify and address the needs of families and ensure that interventions are effective in bringing about change. The training forms part of a new support and professional development programme for school staff called Foundations for Learning (FFL). FFL is an innovative programme to enable staff in Newham schools to provide early help to support the families of vulnerable children & young people. Early Help is the principle of providing at the earliest possible point, support to children, young people and families to maximise their life chances and prevent more complex problems emerging further down the line. The offer to schools through the FFL programme includes: • Accredited training for staff working with families in schools • An Early Help Framework and toolkit for school staff to help identify and address the needs of vulnerable children, young people and their families. • A programme of professional and peer support to share and embed best practice in family support work.
