Description
The project will provide the Ministry of Energy with analytical, legal and communications support to design, draft and negotiate the Energy Strategy of Ukraine 2050. This strategy shall address the deficiencies outlined by the OECD audit of ESU 2035, establish long-term policy priorities, indicators, and normative documents to guide the development of the energy sector that will be negotiated with key stakeholders to respond to Ukraine's international commitments (including a shift to renewable sources/clean energy) and to the needs of its citizens and economy. By supporting the Government of Ukraine to draft and coordinate long-term energy policy, the project would contribute to establishing a broad-based reform support coalition and thus make it possible to build fair energy markets, advocate for energy efficiency and produce an Energy Strategy fully integrated with climate change policy as well as fight corruption in central and local governments.
