Description

The Right to Buy and Right to Acquire schemes gives eligible tenants the right to purchase the property of which they are a tenant, (subject to criteria) in accordance with Section 127 of the Housing Act 1985. OH requires Open Market Property Valuations to be carried out upon request to enable the Section 125 Offer Notice to be provided for the purposes of the Right to Buy and Right to Acquire applications. OH may also require representation upon request for redetermination of value from the District Valuer Services. Section 128 of the Housing Act 1985 gives Right to Buy and Right to Acquire applicants the right to contest the valuation price of the property issued within the Section 125 Offer Notice. In these instances a referral to the District Valuer Services is made where a redetermination of value is made. In cases where the redetermination valuation price is different from the original valuation provided, representation to contest the redetermination valuation is required.
