Description
Redruth Revival CIC are proposing to renovate the Buttermarket cluster of buildings as part of the ongoing regeneration of Redruth's town centre. The Buttermarket comprises four distinct grade II listed buildings over two storeys built around a central courtyard linked to the area's historic markets and the mining industry. The approximate overall floor area is 750m2. The refurbishment will include repairs and alterations to promote small businesses in the food industry and other artisan trades at courtyard level and a range of businesses at the upper level. There will be a new atrium style dining area to replace a redundant two-storey 1970s extension. The courtyard will be resurfaced to accommodate a wide range of community activities and events. The project is supported by the High Street Heritage Action Zone, the Architectural Heritage Fund and the National Lottery Heritage Fund funding programme. The tender is based on a JCT 2016 Standard Edition supported by Bills of Quantities for the building works. The works cover a full range of building trades and services including a mix of traditional stone, joinery, carpentry and slate trades as well as modern interventions for polished concrete, stairs, windows, doors, M&E and solar panels. The evaluation will include a quality assessment after the submission of commercial bids.
