Skills & Participation - Retrofit Academy Licence Part A

The Retrofit Academy CIC Licence Part A is an exclusive areas agreement to work on a strategic skills programme for the retrofit sector (green construction). The licence will provide Hampshire County Council (the Council) with a mechanism to ensure that the Council develop the workforce in support of the Council's Climate Change Programme, and specifically the intended Domestic Homes Retrofit Programme. To deliver this latter scheme will require a skilled workforce that does not currently exist at the scale required. Developing the skills capacity to undertake retrofit projects is a critical success factor to the wider programme. Therefore, a direct award to The Retrofit Academy Community Interest Company would be appropriate in this circumstance, where there are no other suitable professional bodies who can provide accredited skills training and support retrofits (green construction) in this region and that can deliver within the required timescale.
