Continuous Single Person Discount & Long-Term Empty Reviews

The Council (RCT) has over 111,000 council tax dwellings and of these over 40,000 are being allowed the 25% single person discount. In addition, RCT has a high number of “long term” empty properties (empty 12 months or more) that are subject to a 100% council tax bill plus a council tax “premium” of up to 200% (in addition to the standard council tax rate). The contract is for a supplier to review these properties to identify areas of fraud or mis-representation.
