Description
The space economy is changing at a rapid pace as commercialisation of the in-orbit environment leads to new opportunities. The UK is positioning itself to become a global leader in this field and through various interventions, intends to shape this new in-orbit economy that will underpin the future of space. Demand for such space provided services is increasing rapidly for both commercial and scientific applications. De-risking critical technology enablers for the UK space industry allows for faster commercialisation of products and technologies within the UK, avoiding the utilisation of costly overseas testing alternatives. To take on this leading role, UKSA intends to support the development of existing infrastructure into an enhanced national IOSM testing capability that meets the needs of the UK space sector, supports anticipated sector growth and drives UK opportunities within the IOSM market.
