Description

This 6-weeks programme has been designed to provide participants with an insight into the games industry, particularly into the occupational area of Video Gaming Quality Assurance (testing), which is predicted to be one of the growth areas. The programme should provide participants with an understanding of the role that video game testing plays within game development; the principles of testing, the methodologies and tools that are used. In addition, how to report findings and equally important, how to work successfully as part of a team. A key objective of the programme is the progression of participants into apprenticeships, therefore participants should be advised of long-term career opportunities and prepared for applying for employment within the industry. All participants who complete the programme must be guaranteed a job interview. The programme should be delivered 4 - 5 days per week between 9:30 - 4:30. Content should include the list below, which is not exhaustive: o An Introduction to Quality Assurance o How to identify bugs and where to find them o Testing methods and platforms o Platform Testing o CV Writing (referencing experience gained from the programme) o Interview preparation and mock interviews o Team building Service Provider must: o include the price of lunches and transport within the quote o deliver from a location that is accessible by public transport, outlining the planned delivery location and venue to be used during the course o adhere to health and safety rules and regulations being fully responsible for all risk assessments including external activities; provide PPE where necessary and report any accidents/incidents in a timely manner o providers must provide evidence of a Covid-19 safe working environment o report on performance against agreed targets at a timeframe to be agreed and specified in the contract
