Description
Rochdale Council carried out a risk based sourcing request for quote in line with the council's contract procedure rules. The works consisted of the refurbishment of an existing reinforced concrete open spandrel five span arched bridge at Queens Park Road crossing the River Roch. The work will involve extensive concrete repairs to all areas of the bridge, removal and replacement of the parapets with aesthetically similar reinforced concrete parapets, inclusion of anti-suicide fencing to the top of the new parapets, replacement of bridge joints, replacement of waterproofing over the deck, removal of existing temporary concrete barriers protecting the footways and replacement with trief kerbing, provision of new street lighting, replication of the original 1930's ornate bridge lighting with new, resurfacing of the carriageway and footway.
