Description
The work is to be undertaken in accordance with the SBRI application 60869-444211 part 8 submitted to and held by Innovate UK for the Fuels and Lubricants programme. Demonstrate feasibility of a portable and efficient test system to support lubricant condition based maintenance. The project shall demonstrate the potential for a novel rugged hand-held external lubricant condition monitor. The key deliverables of the project are as follows: 1. Experimental results demonstrating the degree of sensitivity to changes in lubricant viscosity analogous to initial degradation. 2. Experimental results demonstrating potential to operate sensor in wide environmental conditions without significant impact to performance. 3. Study to calculate operating performance of a hand-held field test unit. Including: battery life, weight, robustness, price differential versus laboratory unit. 4. Report on findings of the above points
