Description
The Forestry Commission is inviting tenders for the supply and delivery of ground preparation in the form of mulching forest residue as part of preparing our underplanting sites. The Forestry Commission is expanding it's underplanting programme from 100ha per annum to 260ha per annum. The tender will be split across two lots. Lot 1 requires forest residue to be mulched within felled rack, machinery must be able to mulch forest residue and stumps up to 40cm in diameter producing a fine level mulch with stumps mulched flat to ground level. Machinery must fit within racks, less than 4.5m wide. For lot 2, Flail undergrowth within overstorey crop, machinery must be no wider than 1.8m machinery must be able to deal with stumps, overhanging branches and moderate slopes producing a clear planting position with all vegetation cleared to ground level.
