Description
Following a bespoke, single-stage competitive process akin to the Open Procedure, conducted in accordance with Schedule 3 of the PCR 2015, NHS Salford CCG, NHS Manchester CCG, NHS Stockport CCG, NHS Bury CCG, NHS Oldham CCG, NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale CCG and NHS Tameside & Glossop CCG (as the Contracting Authorities) have concluded Direct Access Non-Obstetric Ultrasound Service (Lot 1) contracts with a total of three Providers, with two Providers delivering a NOUS service in each locality across Greater Manchester (sub lots a-h). The three contracts commenced on 1st October 2021 for a period of three years, until 30th September 2024, with the option to extend for a further two years until 30th September 2026. There are no activity or income guarantees under the three contracts, however, combined they total an estimated £30m (including any potential extensions) . This Direct Access Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS) Service will aid early diagnostics and avoid the need for unnecessary referral to secondary care. It will ensure a local service with staff qualified to appropriate levels of skill and experience, using equipment which complies with the most up-to-date guidance set by the Royal College of Radiologists, connection to NHS image transfer solutions, the ability to integrate with the e-Referral Service, robust performance management systems and stringent levels of clinical governance.
