Description
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is seeking multi-disciplinary architect-led teams with exceptional design skills for the design of their new Student Support Centre and creation of a new square at the heart of its campus in Preston, Lancashire. The new Centre and surrounding landscaping will frame the northern side of the square and a vision is set for an iconic, welcoming, open, transparent, accessible Student Support Centre that will help create a new heart for UCLan. The intention will be to appoint the winning team to develop their design proposals up to RIBA Stage 3 in the first instance. Further progression of the project will be subject to successful planning and funding applications. The complete budget for the project is anticipated to be in the region of £56M this includes all costs for the project as a gross figure including: demolition, construction, fees, fit out, furniture, AV/IT, consultant’s costs, compliance with planning/building regulations and VAT. The construction cost budget for the Student Support Centre is circa £26.7M and circa £5.4M (excluding VAT) for the new square and surrounding landscaping works. UCLan wishes to appoint an innovative design team with exceptional skills to design the New Student Support Centre and associated public realm square.
