Description
Worcester City Council carried out a Competitive Procedure with Negotiation. The Council is seeking a delivery partner for the operation of Worcester City's app- based bike share scheme. The Contract will operate with a single Supplier appointed to operate the bike share scheme in accordance with the Council's specification and contract. The funding model was envisaged to be £500,000 capital funding and £100,000 revenue funding from the Council at the start of the scheme. This is the maximum funding available to the scheme and submissions over this price would not be considered. The number of bikes to be provided and the approach to deployment will be agreed with the Supplier. The Supplier will provide all equipment and any associated required infrastructure. The Project aims to provide low-cost access to members of the public who wish to use bikes and to encourage cycling as a viable sustainable travel option. The bike share scheme is aimed at commuters, business travellers, leisure users, tourists, and students. Bikes and ebikes should form part of the scheme to allow people to make longer journeys and journeys over hillier terrain and make the scheme more accessible.
