Description
Milton Keyes City Council has set a target to be Net Zero by 2030 and has been successful in the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) application to support the decarbonisation of council-owned buildings. The grant will facilitate the connection of three key buildings; Civic, Central Library and Woughton Leisure Centre to a new low carbon heat network funded by the Green Heat Network Fund. The Council is currently in the design phase for the enabling works within the three Council buildings and is now looking to commence the next phase of this project. This phase will consist of ensuring a connection to a low carbon heat supplier in Milton Keynes within the timescales set out in the PSDS application. The Council will be awarding ten-year contract to Milton Keynes Energy Limited (MKEL) for the heat network supply to Council buildings namely, Civic, Central Library and Woughton Leisure Centre.
