Description
The service will take a lead in providing counselling and other therapeutic interventions to improve the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people (aged 0 to 25) and their families. Avoiding an artificial age break at 18, developing partnerships (including working with the youth justice system), finding opportunities for integrated working, and establishing a strong and respected position in the borough through its professionalism and leadership. An i-Thrive model of care will be used, in line with the wider Local Tower Hamlets CYP Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Transformation plan. In this approach the service will contribute to the mental health improvement of our vulnerable young people, helping to avoid the need of interventions from specialist services. At its heart will be an accessible youth friendly staff and services, with strong casework and managerial supervision. It will have dynamic relationships with the third sector, maximising social capital and meeting young people 'where they are', with a holistic approach to recognise that problems around work, school, SEND, family relationships, housing, youth justice, substance misuse , alcohol misuse, sexuality and gender identity, and physical or sexual health which can often impact CYP's mental and emotional wellbeing.
