Description
This project involves the refurbishment and upgrade of the existing firefighting lift installation at CH, London. The scope includes the full removal and replacement of the lift car, associated shaft equipment, and integration with the building's fire strategy and life safety systems. Works are to be undertaken in a live, high-security diplomatic building, requiring strict adherence to security protocols, with minimal disruption to operations. The contract requires the provision of a compliant firefighting lift installation in accordance with BS EN 81-72:2020, BS 9999, and relevant Building Regulations, including Approved Document B. All works must meet or exceed the performance, safety, and accessibility standards expected for firefighting lift installations in a commercial/public building setting. Contractors will be expected to coordinate closely with heritage, building services, and security stakeholders, ensuring integration with existing infrastructure and minimal aesthetic impact on listed features. Specific interface requirements include BMS integration, fire alarm interlocks, and mechanical ventilation enhancements within the shaft to meet smoke control provisions. The successful contractor will be required to deliver a complete design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning package, inclusive of all enabling works, builders' work in connection, and certification.
