Description
The Contract will enable Westmorland & Furness Council to continue to meet its regulatory requirements in relation to the servicing and repair of lifts and hoists as specified in the Lifting Operations and Lowering Equipment Regulations (LOLER 1998) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 1998). The Contract will also provide Westmorland and Furness Council with a means of installing new and resited Ceiling Track Hoists, and a consistent way of removing these when no longer required. The Contractor must comply with the requirements of all current editions of regulatory and statutory Acts and Frameworks that cover the Services undertaken including but not limited to those set out below: • British Standard BS.81-40 Stairlifts and inclined platforms intended for persons with impaired mobility • ISO.9386-2 Power operated lifting platforms for persons with impaired mobility • British Standard BS.5900 Powered domestic lifts • British Standard EN81- (all relevant parts) Safety rules for the construction and installations of lifts • I.E.E. Regulations • British Standards BS.7255 Code of practice Safe Working on Lifts • Lifts Regulations 2016 • The Provision of Use at Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (as applicable) (PUWER 98) • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (as applicable) (LOLER 98) • Health & Safety; Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences (RIDDOR 2013) • Control of Substances and Hazards to Health Regulations 2002 (as applicable) (COSHH) inc Asbestos, Hot Work and other regulations • Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed) Guidelines on the supplementary tests of in-service lifts • The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (as applicable) • The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSWA) • The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (Approved Code of Practice) • The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 (Approved Code of Practice) • The supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 1992 • The Factories Act 1961 • The Offices, Shops and Railway Premises Act 1963 • The Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) • The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 The Contractor shall be registered with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to receive and comply appropriately with Field Safety Notices and Medical Device Alerts.
